Join The Trustees for September Programs on Birdwatching, Yoga, Hiking and More in Pioneer Valley and Central Massachusetts

September 5, 2023

The Trustees of Reservations will host several programs in the Pioneer Valley and Central Massachusetts focused on getting folks outdoors to enjoy the start of fall.

Enjoy discovering birds, nature, yoga or live music this month at the following programs:

Families in Nature at Tully Lake Campground – Bring your family to explore the woods around Tully Lake Campground in Royalston with a guide on Sept. 9. Learn about the mental health and emotional well-being benefits of being outdoors. This is a two-hour guided experience.

Peter Mulvey’s Trustees Bike Tour – Join Northampton-based musician Peter Mulvey for a live concert by campfire at Tully Lake Campground in Royalston at 5 p.m. on Sept. 9. Mulvey is touring on his bicycle this month and performing at five Trustees’ properties.

Family Owl Prowl at Tully Lake Campground – Join us on Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. for a family owl prowl at Tully Lake Campground in Royalston. Participants will learn about owl calls, where to find owls and how they hunt at night and then use those skills to go out and listen for owls around Long Pond. Participants should bring a flashlight.

Birding at Bullitt Reservation in Ashfield and Conway – Join a Trustees guide for a two-hour birding hike at Bullitt Reservation on Sept. 18. All experience levels are welcome.

Birding at Mount Warner in North Hadley – Join a naturalist on Sept. 25 for a morning bird hike at Mount Warner. Bring your binoculars or borrow a pair from us.

Yoga in Nature at Mount Warner – On Sept. 17, come out for an outdoor yoga session at Mount Warner in North Hadley. After a short reflective hike through the woods, enjoy a yoga session in a clearing. All levels of participants are welcome.

Full Moon Hike: Peaked Mountain in Monson – Join us at 8 p.m. on Sept. 29 for a full moon hike up Peaked Mountain. This light, mostly uphill hike, includes panoramic views of the Connecticut River Valley and the summit offers a great place to watch the moon rise over western Massachusetts countryside. Recommended for hikers 18 years and older.
